AXPC is a national trade association representing 32 of America's premier independent natural gas and oil exploration and production companies.
The operations of our members are limited to the exploration for and production of natural gas and oil. Our members are independent in that they operate autonomously unlike their fully integrated counterparts which also operate in additional segments of the energy business such as downstream refining and marketing.
The Mission of AXPC is to constuctively and thoughtfully work for sound energy, environmental; and related domestic public policies that encourage the responsible exploration, development and production of natural gas and oil to meet the needs of consumers and fuel our economy.
2012 Policy Maker Field Trip a Great Success
Our 2012 Policy Maker Field Trip was held on August 6-8. We toured 29 Congressional and agency staffers through all phases of oil & gas upstream operations at sites in East Central Ohio's emerging Utica Shale Play. Our guests saw all phases of our operations courtesy of Chesapeake Energy and Devon Energy who led this year's Field Trip. In addition to the operational tours, we were given a detailed briefing on the extensive state regulatory scheme being administered by the Department of Natural Resources of the State of Ohio.
The photos above and below show some members of our group touring a production facility and a water recycling facility. Every effort is made to locate water recycling facilities as near as possible to the areas of development so as to reduce the impact on roads and local communities.
The AXPC Policy Maker Field Trip has been a unique annual event for over fifteen years and continues to be an effective demonstration of our industry's unmatched efforts at conducting operations in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
